Politcis: Intelligence

September 24 2008, 10:12 PM

Does America Need Intelligence and Education in its Leaders ??

With America facing historic debt, multiple war fronts, stumbling health care,
a weakened dollar, all-time high prison population, skyrocketing Federal
spending, mortgage crises, bank foreclosures, etc. etc., this is an unusually
critical election year.

Let's look! at the educational background of the candidates and see what
they bring to the job:

Obama:
Occidental College - Two years.
Columbia University - B.A. political science with a specialization in
international relations.
Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna Cum Laude

& Biden:
University of
Delaware
- B.A. in history and B.A. in political science.
Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor
(J.D.)

vs.

McCain:
United States Naval Academy - Class rank 894 out of 899 (meaning that, like
George Bush, McCain was at the bottom of his class)

Palin:
Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester
North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general study
University of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism
Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester
University of Idaho - 3 semesters toward a - B.A. in journalism

Now, which team are you going to hire to lead a nation with grave problems ?

Supporting Artist: Shoos*e

The Basics Brandon J. Shimabukuro a.k.a. Soosh*e has been in this rap game since about December of 2005. He's done numerous tracks and there are plenty more on the way. But that information is fairly obsolete, so let's get to the stuff someone might actually read.

Born To Be DifferentBorn in Sacramento, California on October 18th, 1990, a young "Soosh*e" was brought into a life of many struggles and hardships through school and family. By the age of three (3), his parents got a divorce. Split between two houses--and two largely conflicting lifestyles--Soosh*e became the "odd ball" at school and around the neighborhood. He didn't know how to act, so he looked to his older brother--John A. Lopez--for guidance and strength.

Learning The Tricks Of The TradeBy the age of 9, Brandon received his first beat-down. He was violently thrown to the ground and choked with a metal bar. The violators had no purpose other than to "pick on" him, being that he was the youngest and most vulnerable attack on the block.

In middle school, a slightly more matured "Soosh*e" took an interest in drumming. He joined the Sam Brannan Middle School concert band and continued in the path ever since.

Finding The WayBrandon had no idea that high school was going to be the crazy ride that it was. His parents had differing opinions about the school each though he should attend. Brandon decided that he wanted to stay in the district he'd been in since birth so that he could stay around the people he'd grown up with. Though the divorce had caused them much stress, they needed to find a compromise to aid Brandon in his success. So from that point on, his parents made an agreement to support their son in all that he did. They supported him through all of his progressions and regressions through the years to follow.

Earning RespectIn 2004 Shimabukuro entered his first year of high school at John F. Kennedy High School. The new goal: earn respect. However, he soon realized that the strive to earn respect was somewhat void during Freshman year, yet somehow he managed. Being in the school drumline, respect made it's way. People saw talent and skill through all the members of the unit, and soon enough respect was given.

In the summer 2005, the seeds of the name "SOOSH*E" were planted. The name came from a show-style marching band known as the MLK Steppers. He came in toward the middle of the legendary band's reign so he was considered a "crab". All crabs received a crab name to give them their initiation. Since Brandon was the only member of some sort of Japanese decent, he received the name "Sushi".

Getting In The GameShortly after leaving the Steppers, his cousin--Stephanie Navarro--introduced him to a music production program called Fruity Loops. He began fooling around with the different FX of the program and often used it to make new cadences for the drumline. By the end of the summer he'd written his first rap and produced a collection of different instrumentals. He co-founded a production group called The Fallen King (TFK) Productions. The originating members included Soosh*e, Javier "Cue Card" Trujillo, Justin "Dj Young'n" Shim, and Jordan "Young One" Shim. Dj Young'n suggested that "Sushi" write his own lyrics and change the spelling of his crab name to use as a title. He then wrote his first wrap titled "Hooked On Fonnix", creating a sort of theme for himself.

The BreakthroughBy November 2005, Soosh*e had laid down his first track, "Who This Is" with his former group, Blazn for the John F. Kennedy High School Mixtape Volume 1--courtesy of History Teacher, Manuel Rustin. The inspiration was his good friend Dionte "Chuuwee" Hunter. He heard one of Soosh*e's productions and decided it would be in his interest to do work together. They formed Blazn, later recruiting a few other members like Machona "ChonyChone" Mkandwire and Imin "Nonsens" Love (formerly "Explicit").

In June 2007, the group split due to conflicting concepts for their new direction. All the members of Blazn are now solo artists or moved on to different groups. Without a doubt, all thank each other for helping in the growth of each artist's talent as a whole.

Present And Looking To The FutureEntering his fourth (4th) and last year of high school at John F. Kennedy High School, Soosh*e returns with a name for himself. Numerous freestyle sessions and myspace hits--such as "Get Get Go", "We Some Punk Rocks", "Time To Shine", and "Black Hoodie" give him a reason to be respected and a way to be known and remembered.

With his solo work and upcoming supergroup (Rock-it Science), Soosh*e has his work cut out for him and is on the verge of stardom. Keep an eye out for more music of all sorts from this rising artist. Thank you for the support.
